Location: Edenvale

A leading JSE listed company in the Automotive Industry is seeking to employ a Financial Manager in its Motor-related Financial Services division, based in Edenvale, Johannesburg.

An energetic & hardworking financial manager with strong financial acumen and the ability to lead our dynamic finance team.

This role will be responsible for leading a finance team, managing the integrity of financial records and providing assurance of accurate and complete financial reporting for the division. Custodian of divisional management accounts ensuring that management accounts are prepared on a consistent basis and are in line with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Management of month end processes and preparation of clear budget and forecast information for future planning.

Ensure that reporting deadlines are met and that financial practices are in line with statutory regulations & legislation.

Lead the Finance team

· Provide vision, set goals & objectives for the team

· Guide, coach, mentor & empower team members

Month end

· Maintain General Ledger, including review and approval of journal entries and opening of new accounts

· Ensure month-end deadlines are met

· Ensure monthly accounts and GL are closed off

Balance Sheet reconciliations

· Review and sign off- monthly general ledger reconciliations

· Ensure that all appropriate supporting documents are included in the file

· Ensure all queries are resolved in a timely manner and escalate if necessary

Reporting

· Ensure financial reporting obligations and deadlines are met

· Review, analyse and provide commentary on monthly management accounts

· Ensure accuracy of reporting submitted by Accountants

· Ensure all reports submitted balance back to Hyperion

· Head office reporting (Hyperion & Additional Notes)

Budget & Forecast

· Ensure annual budgets are prepared

· Ensure forecast is updated when requested

Banking

· Review and approve debtors and creditors application forms

· Review and approve creditor reconciliations and ad-hoc payments

· Authorise payments & beneficiaries

Other

· Review tax & VAT

· Responsible for audits

· Preparation of AFS

· Complete review on completeness of income

· Roll forward accounting system on an annual basis

· Assist teams to resolve imbalances between sub-ledger and financial ledger

· Review systems and internal controls regularly

B.Com or equivalent (Essential)

· CIMA or CA qualification (Preferable)

· Min 3 – 4 years’ experience in a management role

· Attention to detail

· Analytical

· Sound business acumen

· Deadline driven

· Ability to perform under pressure

· Excellent interpersonal skills

· Agile

· Excellent communication skills

· Proficient in Microsoft Office (more specifically MS Excel)

· Experience and with Great Plains and Hyperion (advantageous)
