A well-established, privately owned manufacturing group with a national footprint is looking for an Accountant to join its Cape Town finance team. The business is hands-on by nature, and so is this role. You’ll work closely with an experienced CFO who values accountability, initiative, and people who think beyond today’s task list. The business works closely with long-standing operational partners and stakeholders who value trust, consistency, and clear communication.

The RoleYou’ll support the finance function across multiple entities, with responsibility spanning core accounting, month-end processes, reporting support, and close interaction with operations.
This role suits an ambitious Accountant who wants exposure, mentorship, and a clear development path.
What You’ll Be DoingCapturing and reconciling daily financial transactions across group entities
Preparing journals and supporting month-end close
Maintaining clean, accurate general ledger reconciliations
Prepare monthly management accounts and do variance analysis
VAT, PAYE, and statutory submissions
Processing supplier invoices, payments, and customer receipts
Preparing audit schedules and working with external auditors
Maintaining orderly, audit-ready financial records
Providing financial and operational support directly to the FM & CFO
Mentor and develop debtors and creditors clerks
Getting involved in ad hoc projects linked to business growth and efficiency
Completed SAIPA or CIMA articles (SAICA considered)
BCom Degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar
1–3 years’ experience in an accounting, audit, or finance environment
Comfortable building relationships in a traditional, values-driven business setting
Mature, accountable, and comfortable operating without micromanagement
Keen to be on site, visible, and involved in a manufacturing business
Strong Excel skills and comfort working with accounting systems
High attention to detail and a structured way of working
