The Financial Data Analyst will partner with the business in the provision of financial expertise and advice and develop supporting processes that continuously enhance the delivery of financial services.
About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Financial Data Analyst with a strong accounting background and solid Python skills. This hybrid role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, automating financial processes, and uncovering insights through data.
Key Responsibilities
Automate financial reporting, reconciliations, and data validation using Python.
Analyze large financial datasets to support business decisions.
Develop dashboards and tools to streamline accounting workflows.
Collaborate with finance and IT teams to improve data accuracy and reporting efficiency.
Assist in budgeting, forecasting
Requirements
Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.eg Qualified CA(SA) advantageous
6+ years of experience in current or similar role
Proficiency in Python for data manipulation and automation
Strong Excel skills and familiarity with financial systems
Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
Bonus:
Experience with SQL, Power BI, or other data visualization tools.
Accounting Expertise
In-depth knowledge of IFRS, and other bank specific regulatory reporting requirements.
Proven experience in auditing, tax compliance, financial planning and analysis.
Data & Technical Skills
Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, Power BI.
NB:
Strong coding skills in languages such as Python essential
Experience with financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or simila ERP systems).
Familiarity with database management and data transformation tools (e.g., ETL processes).
