Requirements vary by role but typically include:

Qualifications

BSc / BEng / BTech in Civil or Structural Engineering

National Diploma in Civil Engineering (for technician or draughting roles)

Professional Registration

Professional registration with ECSA or eligibility for registration preferred.

Experience

Technician roles: 2–5 years experience

Engineer / Technologist roles: 5–7 years experience

Senior Engineer roles: 10–15 years experience

Technical Skills

Civil and structural design experience

AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit or similar design software

Structural analysis software (e.g., Prokon, ETABS, Tekla)

Strong report writing and technical documentation skills

Knowledge of construction contracts (e.g., JBCC / NEC)
