A well-established engineering organisation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Civil Engineering Draughtsman to join their team. This is a permanent position at a senior level, requiring a minimum of 10+ years of experience in the field.

Experience: 10+ years' General Civil Engineering Experience Required

Qualifications:

• Certified AutoCAD Operator
• National Certificate:
  Multi-disciplinary Drawing Office Practice
• National Diploma in Engineering

Registrations:

• Membership of the South African Institute of Draughting

Software Proficiency:

• Proficient in AutoCAD and other Autodesk packages
• Familiarity with Civil Designer or Civil 3D software is advantageous

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with engineers and architects to understand project requirements and specifications.
• Create accurate technical drawings and plans using AutoCAD and other relevant software.
• Prepare detailed designs, layouts, and calculations for civil engineering projects.
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards.
• Review and interpret engineering designs, sketches, and redlines to produce accurate drawings.
• Assist in the preparation of project documentation, including reports, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with other drafters and design team members to ensure project deadlines are met.
• Conduct quality control checks on drawings to ensure accuracy and adherence to project requirements.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and emerging technologies.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in AutoCAD and related software.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Senior Civil Engineering Draughtsman or similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of civil engineering principles, techniques, and practices.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other Autodesk software packages.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in creating technical drawings.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Effective communication skills to liaise with project stakeholders.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities to meet project deadlines.
• Membership of the South African Institute of Draughting.
• Familiarity with Civil Designer or Civil 3D software is advantageous.

Salary:
Negotiable Depending on Qualifications and Experience
