Estimator, Manufacturing Engineer
A leading engineering, manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced Engineering Estimator with strong exposure to process- or modular plant estimation.
The ideal candidate will have hands?on experience preparing accurate cost estimates for engineering projects, with a preference for candidates who have worked on process- or modular plants, or similar industrial environments. Candidates with broader engineering project estimation experience will also be considered.
The role requires strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and the capability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and project requirements to produce accurate and competitive estimates.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
Experience
- Proven experience in estimation for process plants or engineering projects — Essential
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, BOQs, and technical specifications
- Strong understanding of materials, fabrication, construction, and installation costs
- Experience preparing cost breakdowns, tender documents, and supporting schedules
- Proficiency in MS Excel and estimation software/tools

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for process plant projects and engineering works
• Analyse project specifications, drawings, and technical documentation
• Develop BOQs, cost breakdowns, and tender submissions
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing
• Identify cost risks, assumptions, and exclusions
• Support project teams with cost?related queries
• Ensure estimates align with project scope, timelines, and client requirements
• Contribute to continuous improvement of estimation processes and tools
