Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join a well-established company specialising in the design and manufacture of cranes and lifting equipment. The successful candidate will be involved in the design, development, and continuous improvement of mechanical systems used in heavy-duty lifting applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components and systems for cranes and lifting equipment
- Produce detailed engineering drawings and specifications
- Perform calculations related to load, stress, torque, and material selection
- Support manufacturing, assembly, and testing processes
- Collaborate with electrical, production, and quality teams
- Assist with troubleshooting, modifications, and upgrades on existing designs
- Ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards and safety regulations
- A formal qualification in Mechanical Engineering
- 2–5+ years’ experience in mechanical design within a manufacturing environment
- Experience with cranes, hoists, lifting equipment, or heavy machinery (advantageous)
- Proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD, Solid Works, Inventor, or similar)
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials, and fabrication processes
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills
