This role is based at Amandelbult Complex, Tumela Mine, Thabazimbi, South Africa
Job DescriptionPlanning is responsible for integrating appropriate information from all relevant mining disciplines to design appropriately feasible Mine plans. Mine plans requested from this role are monthly, annually, 5 years. (Geology, Survey and Rock Engineering).
Roles and responsibilities include the following:
- Monthly plan
- Annual plan
- 5-year plan
- Comparing actuals with plans, re-plans and recommends shaft remedial actions
- Consolidation of monthly planning
- Optimum Mining layouts
- Input into new technical systems design / layouts / structures
- Input into capital and ad hoc projects
- Functional owner of Cads mine scheduling on shaft
- Compile short-term plan in accordance with LoM (obtained from the Chief Mine
- Planner in conjunction with medium term planner) and 5-year plans in conjunction with line management
- Schedule the 1-year and monthly plans with input from line management
- Schedule new layouts and design for project type work (extensions, new block, new ideas) on Mine RP Planner
- Analyses KPI’s and highlights potential high-risk areas
- Put controls in place to ensure Production plans are adhered to
This role is on a D1 level reporting to the Assistant Mining Engineer Planning
Qualifications- Matric
- Mining qualifications that support the preparation of mine plans such as survey or mine overseer certificates/Survey qualification
- Mining industry background with at least 6 years’ experience
- Cads Mine draughting, scheduling software program skills compulsory Understanding of the following disciplines:
Geology, Survey, Rock Engineering, Ventilation/Evaluation - Reporting skills required
- Understanding of Mine Planning procedures
