Boiler Engineer:
Waste Heat Recovery (WHR) Specialist
Sector: Cement Manufacturing
Our client is looking for a highly skilled Boiler Engineer to spearhead the performance of the Waste Heat Recovery (WHR) systems.
In this role, you won’t just manage equipment; you will be a key driver of the energy efficiency and sustainable production goals. You will provide expert engineering support to ensure the boiler plant operates at peak reliability, safety, and legal compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- System Optimization: Manage the WHR system to maximize energy recovery, ensure steady power generation, and align output with production needs.
- Engineering Excellence: Lead failure analysis (RCA), develop maintenance standards, and oversee internal boiler inspections in relation to AIA standards.
- Strategic Planning: Assist the Maintenance Manager with long-term planning, CAPEX projects, and budgeting while tracking spares inventory to minimize downtime.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure 100% adherence to ISO standards (9001, 14001, 50001) and OHSAS 18001. Lead the team in safe work procedures and lockout/tagout protocols.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing technical team.
Key Requirements
- Education: BSc / BEng / B-Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- Certification: Must be registered/permitted to write the GCC (Factories/Works) exams.
- Experience: 5–8 years in cement or heavy industry, with a specific focus on WHR systems, boilers, turbines, and thermal systems.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SAP ERP and in-depth knowledge of heat exchangers and power gen technologies.
- Attributes: Proven ability to manage maintenance in high-temperature industrial environments; willing to work flexible shifts/weekends during critical plant interventions.
