Hire Resolve is excited to announce a fantastic opportunity for a talented and driven Civil Engineering Technologist to join our client’s team in uMhlanga, KZN, South Africa As a Civil Engineering Technologist, you will be responsible for designing and overseeing the construction of various civil engineering projects, including roads, sewer systems, and stormwater drainage.

Responsibilities &

Skills:

Strong technical skills and able to manage projects from Conceptual to Detailed Design, Documentation and Contract Administration of services for civil infrastructure projects including but not limited to:

Municipal services Earthworks, Stormwater Reticulation, Sewer Reticulation, Water Reticulation, platforms, and assessments

Ensure all designs are checked and approved by the relevant manager prior to forwarding to the relevant client and contractor

Performing due diligence on the impact and feasibility of new construction sites.

The preparation of feasibility reports

Attending meetings with clients and stakeholders as and when required

Assist with the implementation of medium to large sized projects within technical standards, quality, budgets, and time frames.

Ensure effectiveness, quality, and profitability of completed projects including project follow-up, to monitor project deliverables and client satisfaction levels

Site supervision as and when required

Contribute to the preparation of project reports and proficiency in technical report writing

A working understanding of project finances and project budgets for medium to large scale projects

Surveying new construction sites and assessing existing structures for upgrades

Sound Project Management Skills – Liaise, co-operate, and provide required information to clients and stakeholders at various stages

Preparation of estimates of construction costs (BOQs)

Preparation of specifications and preambles for construction works (Colto / Coto / SANS / GCC

Requirements:

Completed minimum or BTech.

Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite (MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint)

No less than 10 years experience in a similar position within a Consulting Engineering firm (pref)

Proficient in design packages

AutoCAD Civil 3D experience essential

Technical knowledge of drawing and design processes

Project Management experience is essential
