Position Overview

Thandimfundo Schools is seeking a passionate and dynamic Intermediate and Senior Phase Educator to join our academic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality instruction to learners in Grades 4–7, with the ability to teach one or more of the following subjects:

  • Natural Sciences and Technology (NS/Tech)

The educator will play a key role in nurturing learners’ academic growth, critical thinking, and personal development while upholding the values and educational standards of Thandimfundo Schools.

Key Responsibilities Teaching and Learning
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons aligned with the CAPS curriculum for Grades 4–7.
  • Teach assigned subject(s) effectively while adapting teaching strategies to meet diverse learner needs.
  • Create engaging and learner-centered classroom environments that encourage participation and curiosity.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods, resources, and technology to enhance learning outcomes.
Assessment and Academic Monitoring
  • Design and administer formal and informal assessments in accordance with CAPS guidelines.
  • Monitor and evaluate learner progress and maintain accurate academic records.
  • Provide constructive feedback to learners to support academic development.
  • Prepare learner reports and participate in academic review processes.
Classroom Management
  • Maintain a structured and positive classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Implement effective discipline strategies aligned with school policies.
  • Encourage respectful behavior, collaboration, and learner responsibility.
Learner Development
  • Support the holistic development of learners academically, socially, and emotionally.
  • Identify learners who require academic support and implement appropriate intervention strategies.
  • Foster critical thinking, creativity, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development initiatives
    .
  • Contribute to co‑curricular activities such as sports, cultural programs, or clubs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support the academic vision of Thandimfundo Schools.
Communication
  • Maintain open and professional communication with parents and guardians regarding learner progress.
  • Attend parent meetings, consultations, and school functions as required.
  • Work collaboratively with the school leadership team and fellow educators.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Specialization in Intermediate and/or Senior Phase
  • SACE registration (or eligible for registration)
  • Strong knowledge of the CAPS curriculum
  • Ability to teach at least one of the following subjects:
