This is an exciting opportunity to join the University of Worcester as a Lecturer (Teaching – Maternity Cover) in Sport and Exercise Therapy. make a contribution to the provision of Sport and Exercise Therapy at the University of Worcester. As an integral member of the dynamic and expanding School of Sport and Exercise Science, the Lecturer (Maternity cover) in Sport and Exercise Therapy will work within a team delivering high quality teaching of Sports Therapy and will also support staff and students engaged in teaching & learning, research and consultancy.

The BSc course is accredited by the Society of Sports Therapists (SST).

• To undertake high-quality academic teaching within the Department, designing teaching sessions which maximise the integration of theory to practice.
• To work with others to ensure appropriate placements for all students are monitored, managed, and achieved, as required, in a proactive and timely fashion.
• To liaise and communicate effectively with the Head of Department and the teaching team to ensure a high-quality student experience.
• Actively engage in scholarly activity that underpins the specialist area and which contributes to the University and School objectives, ensuring up-to-date, leading-edge teaching.
• To contribute to the assessment process for students including the setting, marking and moderation of work, individually or collectively, as part of a team in accordance with quality assurance procedures.
• To contribute to the design and development of innovative, inclusive, and inspiring learning materials and assessments, including e-learning.
• To contribute to the development of effective partnerships and student placement opportunities within Sports Therapy, to ensure appropriate placements for all students are monitored, managed, and achieved, as required, in a proactive and timely fashion.
• To act as a Personal Academic Tutor to students within the Department.
• To contribute to the planning and development of the course and any new provisions.
• To participate in, and contribute to, the wider aspects of the School, such as student recruitment, open days, courses and resource management.
• To contribute to enhancing the external profile of the University through, for example, working with a range of external partners, corporate clients, and professional bodies.
• To carry out academic administrative work and participate in relevant committees / working groups within the School and College.
• To participate in annual staff development and review processes including team away days and course meetings.
• Participate fully in the life of the School and carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by the Head of School or her/his nominee.
