Purpose of the Position:
The teaching of undergraduate & postgraduate students, research, and supervision of postgraduate students; organisational & management tasks.

Teaching undergraduate & postgraduate students. - Research:
Conducting research and supervision of postgraduate students. - Organisational & management tasks:
Assist with management tasks. - Social Responsiveness:
Involvement in community engagement projects; subject specific societies; review of scholarly publications.
- A PhD (NQF level 10) in Mathematics with a focus on Functional Analysis, Algebra, Topology, Number Theory, Algebraic Geometry, Differential Geometry, Potential Theory, Approximation Theory, Functional Analytic PDEs & Orthogonal Polynomials.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience lecturing undergraduate and postgraduate students at university level.
- Proven research record.
- Involvement in community engagement projects; subject specific societies; review of scholarly publications.
- Membership with the South African Mathematical Society (SAMS) or the American Mathematical Society (AMS).
- LaTeX, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
