job descriptionpurpose of the position
junior lecturer: provide teaching and learning services.
lecturer: provide teaching and learning services as well as a research function.
key responsibilities- teaching and learning
- teaching assigned classes according to the nwu teaching and learning strategies
- research
- research outputs as to be discussed with pgl and dd
- community engagement
- actively contribute to community engagement projects as part of sas.
junior lecturer
- a bcom honours degree in accountancy (nqf level
8). - a minimum of one (1) year teaching experience in a tertiary environment.
- an mcom degree in accountancy (nqf level
9) or a bcom honours degree in accountancy (nqf level
8) with saipa/acca registration or saica accreditation as an aga(sa). - a minimum of one (1) year teaching experience in a tertiary environment.
- accreditation and registration with the south african institute of professional accountants (saipa)/ the south african institute of chartered accountants (saica) as an aga(sa)/ the associate of chartered certified accountants (acca) if applying without a mcom
- a minimum of one (1) year corporate experience.
- a working knowledge of essential technical competencies required in any of the accountancy disciplines.
- knowledge of working with students, handling large classes, setting of assessments.
- knowledge of the process of research and an eagerness to conduct research.
- interest in community service.
- advanced knowledge of the microsoft office package (excel, power point and word).
- knowledge of accounting-related software packages.
- demonstration of language proficiency to function optimally in the multilingual environment of the nwu.
- professional and ethical behaviour.
- adaptability / agility.
