Role Overview
The Junior Accounts and Admin Clerk provides day-to-day support to the finance and administrative functions of the business. This role is suited to a detail-oriented individual with basic accounting knowledge and strong organisational skills.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Accounts / Finance Support
  • Capture supplier invoices, credit notes, and expenses accurately
  • Assist with debtors and creditors processing
  • Prepare and issue customer invoices
  • Allocate payments and reconcile debtor accounts
  • Assist with bank reconciliations
  • Process petty cash and staff expense claims
  • Support month-end procedures and audit preparation
  • Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems
  • Liaise with suppliers and customers regarding account queries
Administrative Duties
  • General office administration and filing (physical and electronic)
  • Answer and redirect phone calls and emails professionally
  • Prepare basic reports and spreadsheets
  • Assist with document control and record keeping
  • Order stationery and office supplies
  • Support HR admin such as leave records and employee files (if required)
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
  • Grade 12 (Matric) – essential
  • Certificate or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping, or Office Administration (advantageous)
  • 1–2 years’ experience in a similar junior accounts or admin role
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g. Sage Pastel, Xero, Quick Books) – advantageous
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook

  • Good organisational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Professional communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Honest, reliable, and able to handle confidential information
