A group of entrepreneurs require an Independent Contractor as an Admin and Operations Assistant to support a start-up FMCG entity. The offices are based in Melrose and office presence will be required in the first 2 months. R180 per hour 3 hours per day Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative Support:
● Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate logistics across multiple companies.
● Organise and maintain digital filing systems (e.g. Google Drive, Dropbox).
● Prepare and format documents, presentations, reports, and correspondence.
● Track and follow up on tasks, deadlines, and key action items.
Company Operations:
● Support with company registrations, compliance filings, and document submissions.
● Liaise with external service providers such as accountants and legal advisors.
● Assist with invoice tracking, basic bookkeeping, and expense reporting.
● Help maintain internal databases, contact lists, and project trackers.
Growth and Strategy Support:
● Assist with go-to-market research, competitor analysis, and business model validation.
● Help track KPIs across companies and provide insights to guide decision-making.
● Coordinate marketing campaigns, product launches, or BD initiatives as needed.
● Conduct research for new opportunities or industries under exploration.
Project Coordination:
● Provide administrative support to ongoing projects across different companies.
● Monitor timelines and send reminders to ensure milestones are met.
● Help compile progress updates for internal and external stakeholders.
The goal would be to convert the Independent Contractor to a more formal employment agreement after 6 months should work be carried out successfully.
Requirements- 2-4 years' experience in a similar role - preferably experience working in a start-up.
- Google Drive, Dropbox, Microsoft Office Suite
- Canva advantageous
- Must be able to come in to office for the first month or 2 for training and getting to know the company culture
