Accountant, Accounting Manager, Tax Accountant

A well-established accounting and advisory practice is seeking an Accountant to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in full-function bookkeeping and tax compliance, with the ability to manage a portfolio of diverse clients independently. Monday - Friday 8am - 4.30pm

Responsibilities:

• Manage a portfolio of clients across various industries
• Complete full-function bookkeeping to trial balance primarily using Xero or Sage
• Prepare and submit monthly management accounts, VAT returns, and payroll journal
• Reconcile and submit EMP
  201 and EMP
  501 returns and ensure accurate IRP5 generation
• Administer payroll tax compliance, including UIF, PAYE, and SDL submissions
• Handle and resolve VAT and Payroll SARS queries and audits, liaising directly with SARS when necessary
• Maintain accurate tax and accounting records in line with industry best practices
• Support clients with general accounting system usage and ad-hoc financial queries
• Build and sustain long-term client relationships through proactive communication and service delivery

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or similar (essential)
• 10+ years’ experience in accounting within a practice environment
• Strong proficiency in bookkeeping and management accounts preparation
• Ability to manage SARS audits and disputes independently
  
  Familiarity with cloud accounting platforms such as Xero
• Highly organized, self-managed, and capable of working with minimal supervision
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Proactive, tech-savvy, and solutions-oriented approach
