The Production Planner position is responsible for a variety of analytical and administrative duties within the designated cells, in conjunction with creating and releasing job orders through the Symix system.
Location:South Windsor, CT
This role is onsite 100% of the time
- Control the flow of work throughout manufacturing, release and monitor work orders throughout the manufacturing cycle and act as a liaison between work centers and the customer to ensure on-time delivery of product.
- Review customer schedules to prioritize and release work orders
- Expedite parts throughout the manufacturing process acting as liaison between all areas of the business to keep parts moving toward completion.
- Act as main point of contact for customers.
- Manage capacity in responsible areas to ensure adequate staffing is maintained
- Responsible for control of inventory including finished goods and WIP
- Ensure work centers have updated schedules and monitor compliance
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Associate's Degree in related field and two (2) years of related experience
- Knowledge of production scheduling processes in a manufacturing environment
- Computer skills including fluency with Microsoft Office Products
- Knowledge of MRP Systems and creating/modifying mechanical drawings with any popular CAD system
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
- Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.
- Bachelor's Degree in related field
- Five (5) years of related experience
- Ability to perform multiples tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated with tremendous sense of urgency, resourcefulness, and adaptability
- Prior knowledge of Visual Manufacturing ERP a plus
- Regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
- Frequently required to talk or hear.
- Occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision and color vision.
