Responsible for providing a variety of technical procedures and applying prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis for our GoHealth Urgent Care patients. This role is responsible for performing and analyzing patient x-rays and reporting results to Medical Providers. Additional responsibilities include providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of GoHealth Urgent Care Centers. In a collaborative manner, the Radiologic Technologist will provide support to Medical Providers, Medical Assistants and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication.
Job Requirements Education- Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program required
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Experience in a clinical setting preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required at the time of hire (ARC or AHA)
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration required
- Applicable state licensure as a Radiologic Technologist required
Essential Functions
- Responsible for x-ray services as needed
- Under the direction of the clinical provider, perform x-ray services for patients by applying x-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients across all ages
- Ensure patients are positioned correctly and protected during use
- Will need to push patient in a wheelchair
- Inform technical staff of patient flow
- Prepare patients for examination, verify patient information and medical history, and confirm purpose of visit
- Perform preliminary vital signs (blood pressure, weight, temperature) and escalate critical cases to provider as needed
- Conduct point of care testing as needed (e.g., flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, hCG) and provide patient information to provider
- Maintain medical records and scan charts to patient files
- Conduct courtesy call-backs for patient follow-up
- Follow operating instructions to perform and document daily controls and calibration of equipment; maintain QA/QC logs, troubleshoot, perform preventive maintenance, and submit repair tickets as needed
- Medical Team Support:
Collaborate with the ordering/treating Provider to determine which procedures or views will best assist in accurate diagnoses and treatment - Patient Care:
Explain procedures, ensure patient comfort and safety, answer questions - Patient Positioning:
Position patients and equipment for optimal imaging - Image Production:
Adjust radiographic controls to capture clear images - Equipment Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance and ensure supplies - Radiation Safety:
Adhere to ALARA principles to minimize exposure - Documentation:
Maintain accurate patient records and log procedures in electronic systems - Image Management:
Verify image quality and ensure images are sent to radiologists
- Knowledge of X-ray procedures and protocols; anatomy and physiology relevant to X-ray testing
