Master Scheduler

Job Location s: US-CT-South Windsor

Overview

Element Materials Technology Hartford is seeking a highly organized and proactive Master Scheduler to lead planning and scheduling activities across our NDT operations, including Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Etch, Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI), Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI).

This role is critical to ensuring customer commitments are translated into executable production schedules that optimize asset utilization, meet aerospace compliance requirements, and drive on-time delivery.

Salary: $85,000.00/yr DOE

Responsibilities

Master Planning & Scheduling:

  • Develop and maintain the master production schedule across UT, Etch, FPI, and MPI departments.
  • Translate customer demand and contractual requirements into executable schedules.
  • Align work orders with approved tank assets and customer-specific approvals.
  • Manage scheduling for 18+3 UT tank assets (with 3 additional assets coming online in April).
  • Optimize capacity planning to maximize throughput and on-time delivery performance.
  • Proactively identify bottlenecks and reallocate resources as needed.

Operational Coordination:

  • Partner with Operations Manager, department supervisors, and quality to prioritize work based on customer urgency.
  • Balance conflicting priorities while maintaining compliance and safety standards.
  • Communicate schedule changes clearly to leadership and hourly personnel.
  • Monitor daily production performance and adjust schedules in real time.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Analyze utilization trends and recommend improvements to workflow and asset deployment.
  • Support ERP/system accuracy related to routing, capacity, and labor planning.
  • Drive cross-functional problem solving to reduce turnaround times.
Skills & Qualifications
  • 5+ years of scheduling, production planning, or operations coordination experience.
  • Experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or NDT environments strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of capacity planning, asset utilization, and workflow sequencing.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Active problem solver with strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to work effectively with both leadership and hourly teams.
  • ERP/MRP system experience required.
  • Proficiency in Excel and production reporting tools.
