Description
The Ice Arena Attendant position is responsible to assist Doug Woog Ice Arena personnel in facility maintenance and operations.
Examples of DutiesAbide by and enforce rules and policies pertaining to the facility; provide a safe, clean and customer-friendly environment for guests and patrons; assist with opening/closing procedures; report all problems to supervisor; and, provide direction in the event of an emergency. Other duties include concession duties, general maintenance, such as emptying trash, cleaning of building (including locker rooms, concession stands, bathrooms, player boxes and penalty boxes), maintain cleanliness of public areas (lobby, halls, walls, floors, bleachers, etc.),
assist during high school games, monitor parking lot and assist public with parking needs, and shovel snow and spread salt outside as needed or assigned.
- Age 16 or older
- Ability to follow direction
- Previous work in an arena setting desired
Skills And Abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively in English in both verbal and written modes, including the ability to provide clear explanations and answers to inquiries.
- Ability to comply with verbal and written instructions and established procedures.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, complete tasks and routines as assigned.
- Ability to work with employees and others in a courteous, tactful and professional manner.
Seasonal / Variable hour positions are not eligible for a benefit package. However, the City of South St. Paul does provide Earned Sick & Safe Time (ESST) leave in accordance with Minnesota's ESST law.
