The Electrical and Instrumentation Technician is responsible for the safe, reliable and efficient performance of the automated plant processes, systems and lines, while supporting teamwork amongst all departments, at Ingredion’s SSC Pea Protein Facility. They must be multi-crafted with a heavy emphasis on software and control systems. Their work includes on-line troubleshooting and repair, planned work, continuous improvement, capital projects, maintenance projects and training of other technicians and plant operators.

Their activities are driven by area performance and planned work order requests.

What You Will Do:

  • Ensure adherence to company, customer, and regulatory procedures for safety, quality, production, and cost efficiency; actively promote safety programs daily.
  • Perform troubleshooting, configuration, installation, documentation, checkout, and commissioning of instrumentation and valves.
  • Maintain detailed records of instrumentation work, including work orders, calibration and variance reports, and MOC documentation.
  • Maintain as-built documentation, calibrate pressure, flow, and temperature devices, and test PLC interlocks for proper operation.
  • Support the compliance with all plant regulatory, ISO, Quality, Food Safety systems, GMP policies, guidelines, standards and requirements, and train non-technical users on plant automation systems.
  • Install instruments and tubing, perform electrical tasks (e.g., wire terminations, conduit bending), and support equipment commissioning and process startups.
What You Will Bring:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; preferred training in controls, electrical, or electronics. Minimum 3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting Rockwell PLC systems, interfacing with PLCs, scales, and display devices. Familiar with Allen Bradley, ABB, Factory Talk drives, and various voltage systems (480V 3-phase to 24V single-phase). Must have a good understanding of interfacing with PLC's, scales and display devices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; SAP experience is a plus. Familiar with food safety standards including GMP, HACCP, and SPC.
  • Experienced with industrial, electrical, and rigging tools. Able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in hot/wet environments with appropriate PPE.
  • Working knowledge of Allen Bradley, ABB and Factory Talk variable frequency drives and other common drives used in the field including a working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
