Working in a Starbucks store is different from any other job. You're creating genuine moments of connection with our customers and making a difference to their day, through creating hand‑crafted delicious beverages and building relationships with our customers (getting to know their favourite drink), and with your fellow partners in store.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting store procedures including opening or closing the store, cash handling, safety and security.
  • Supporting your fellow partners during periods of high volume to keep the store operating.
  • Anticipating and delivering on customer and store needs by getting to know your store environment and customers.
  • Supporting in creating the third‑place environment during each shift.
  • Delivering legendary customer service to all customers by acting with a customer‑first attitude and creating genuine connections.
  • Maintaining a clean and organised workspace for customers and partners, including toilet areas.
  • Providing quality beverages, whole‑bean and food products consistently in line with our recipe and presentation standards.
  • Identifying opportunities and applying techniques to increase sales and improve customer experience.
  • Tailoring communication techniques to meet customer needs and build rapport.
  • Maintaining a safe, hygienic and secure working environment and complying with health and safety legislation, regulations, guidelines and procedures.
  • Following food safety and allergen legislation and procedures applicable to your role.
  • Using technology and equipment in line with business policy to meet customer needs.
  • Handling transactions and payments securely.
  • Working as part of a team to ensure that products and services are delivered on time and in line with business needs.
  • Dealing with or escalating issues that impact service and customer experience, and implementing any instructions given by a supervisor.
  • Using professional methods of communication that are tailored to different situations, and individual and team needs.
  • Managing your own time and workload, prioritising tasks.
  • Maintaining and rotating stock according to life cycle and business processes.
  • Ensuring equipment and technology faults and maintenance issues are reported promptly.
  • Checking customers are satisfied with products and services through questioning and acting on feedback in line with business procedures.
  • Keeping up to date with changes to products and processes.
  • Using feedback to improve your performance.
  • Reducing the waste of resources, taking sustainability into account, in line with business expectations.

Schedule

Given the nature of our stores, our working hours could include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays. Store opening hours: 6:00 am – 10:00 pm. Training will take place at either Benton, Washington or Metro Centre until the new store at South Shield opens on 26 February.
