The iconic Barbour Bedale and Barbour Beaufort wax jackets continue to be made by hand in the factory in South Shields. In 2020, Barbour launched Wax for Life, an overarching name for all of Barbours wax services designed to encourage customers to extend the life of their wax garments. Wax for Life includes re‑waxing and repairs (first introduced in 1921) and Barbour Re‑Loved an upcycling circularity initiative.

Each year over 70,000 wax garments are sent back to Barbour globally to be repaired, rewaxed or altered.

Position Overview

We are recruiting a Global Trade Marketing Coordinator to join our Global Trade Marketing team here at our Head Office in South Shields. This role will be key to supporting the Global Trade Marketing Manager to produce seasonal marketing assets, sales tools, launch needs, brand assets and implementation of the Global Marketing Calendar. The successful candidate will be working with the wider Trade Marketing team to deliver seasonal collection launch requirements and sales tools four times per year and support across the wider Trade team.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Work with the Global Senior Marketing Coordinators Sell Out, to support all markets in ensuring development of key partners marketing plans, execution and reporting.
  • Prepare Seasonal and/or Key Campaign Global Marketing Plans and Reports through the seasonal Global Marketing Calendar, obtain results from key markets and feedback each month.
  • Coordinate the creation of Seasonal Sell Out Tools including Visual Merchandising Guidelines, Global Training Packs & Brand/Collection Guidelines.
  • Work with the Graphic Design team to help deliver assets for local and regional marketing activations, supporting with reviewing briefs and flow of assets through Trade.
  • Supporting delivery of global sales tools/sell in requirements (led by Senior Global Marketing Coordinator Sell In); B2B site, Range Directories, Look Books, Sell In Packs, asset circulation to markets and other relevant launch tasks.
  • Regularly update the Barbour Library/Asset Banks. Uploading and maintaining assets on the online platform with relevant metadata and reviewing the usage by markets/assessing future needs.
  • Compile Consumer Research & Market Research projects undertaken.
  • Act as the go to person in the Marketing team for global markets, offering support and solving queries.
  • Undertake any other reasonable activity, as may be required by senior management.
Skills And Experience Desirable
  • Degree level education.
  • Marketing qualification at degree or post graduate level.
Essential
  • Previous marketing experience or graduate with marketing qualification.
  • Demonstrates high standards of attention to detail.
  • Able to work well under pressure, remain calm with a can‑do attitude and demonstrate this style to others.
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Outlook and Word.
  • Preferred experience use of Excel and Adobe Suite including InDesign and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to build strong relationships internally and externally.
  • Flexible methods with a positive approach to change.
  • Extremely self motivated.
  • Able to work by self along with good team working skills.
  • Pleasant and efficient telephone manner.
  • Strong organizational and time management ability.
  • Willing to go the extra mile and demonstrate commitment to the role/company.
  • Able to establish relationships with people at all levels.
  • Uses time effectively works on high priority actions first.
