Job Summary

Choice Facilities Services is looking for a dedicated, motivated, and dependable individual to join our team as Deputy Portering & Security Manager.

In this key role, you will coordinate and support the management of Portering and Security Supervisors, while also assisting in the day‑to‑day leadership of portering, security, waste, and transport teams across the service. You will work closely with the Operational Support Manager Portering & Security and the Hotel Services Manager, providing essential management support to ensure services run smoothly and efficiently.

As Deputy Portering & Security Manager, you will play a vital part in delivering a safe, responsive, and high‑quality Portering and Security service for staff, patients, and visitors.

Main Duties
  • Support the management, co‑ordination and development of all operational support services in CHoICE run hospital sites, ensuring delivery of a cost‑effective service that meets Trust/CHoICE needs and complies with policies and statutory regulations.
  • Provide direct line management to Operational Support Supervisors and offer mentorship to Trainee Facilities Assistant Managers.
  • Make informed decisions in the absence of the Operational Support Manager when required.
  • Manage, develop and support a team of Portering, Security and Waste Supervisors, as well as all other staff within Operational Support. Assist the Operational Support Manager in ensuring the service is delivered efficiently, cost‑effectively, and with accurate, timely data collection and reporting.
  • Demonstrate integrity, impartiality and determination in driving continuous improvement and enhancing overall service quality.
Shift Pattern

Fully flexible to work 40 hours within 8 am–5 pm, with expectation to cover service needs when required.
