Milk Education is recruiting Graduate Social & Emotional Classroom Support staff to work in primary schools across South Tyneside
, supporting pupils with a range of Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs

- Psychology Graduates
- Criminology Graduates
- Counselling, Mental Health or Youth Work graduates
- Aspiring Educational Psychologists, Teachers, Therapists or SEN Specialists
- Graduates seeking paid, practical experience in education
(Previous school experience is helpful but not essential —
training can be provided

You may work with pupils who experience:
- Anxiety and worries around school
- Low mood or emotional withdrawal
- Difficulties with emotional regulation
- Attachment and relationship needs
- Behavioural challenges linked to emotions
- Low self‑esteem and confidence
- Trauma‑related responses
- Social interaction and communication difficulties
Support is typically provided 1:1 or in small groups
, helping pupils feel safe, understood and ready to learn.
As a Graduate Social & Emotional Classroom Support Worker, you will:
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
- Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
- Help pupils engage with learning and routines
- Work closely with class teachers and SEN teams
- Contribute to a calm, nurturing classroom environment
