Teacher – Alternative Provision (Primary / Secondary)

Location: South Shields
Rate: £90–£110 per day
Phase: Primary and Secondary available

This specialist provision supports pupils who are temporarily or permanently out of mainstream education, offering personalised curriculum, qualifications (including AQA Unit Awards and Entry Level), and support towards reintegration or next steps.

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons across your phase (Primary or Secondary).
• Differentiate instruction to meet SEMH, behaviour and learning needs.
• Support pupils to achieve qualifications and progress emotionally and academically.
• Collaborate with support staff and leadership to maintain a safe, responsive learning environment.

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) essential.
• Experience in SEMH settings, alternative provision, PRU, or behaviour support schools preferred.
• Strong classroom presence, creativity and resilience.
• Flexible, reflective and committed to pupil progress.

• Work in an environment where you see impact every day.
• Strong pastoral and leadership support.
• Opportunities for longer‑term supply or permanent transitions.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
