Psychology Graduate Emotional Wellbeing Assistant

Location: South Shields
Pay: £90–£110 per day
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term
Start Date: As soon as possible

We are seeking a Psychology Graduate Emotional Wellbeing Assistant to support pupils who experience anxiety, emotional distress or difficulty regulating emotions in school.

This role focuses on building trusting relationships and supporting pupils to feel safe, calm and supported throughout the school day.

You will play a key role in helping pupils develop emotional awareness and coping strategies, enabling them to engage more confidently with learning.

  • Supporting pupils with emotional wellbeing needs
  • Helping pupils manage anxiety and emotional dysregulation
  • Working closely with pupils on a 1:1 basis
  • Supporting classroom engagement and routines
  • Liaising with pastoral and SEN teams
  • Holds a Psychology degree or similar qualification
  • Has a strong interest in child mental health
  • Is empathetic, patient and emotionally resilient
  • Wants hands‑on experience in a specialist setting

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
