At Tyne Coast College, we pride ourselves on our excellent facilities and a dedicated, knowledgeable team who work collaboratively to support every learner’s journey. We are currently seeking Learning Support Assistants to join our inclusive and learner‑focused team.
What You’ll Do- Provide tailored support to learners with a range of disabilities, both in group settings and one‑to‑one.
- Assist in the delivery of learning programmes, including support with Maths and English.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
- Work closely with teaching staff and support teams to ensure learners reach their full potential.
- Recent experience in a Further Education (FE) setting.
- Experience supporting across a range of disabilities.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English at Grade C/Level 2 or willingness to work towards.
- Relevant subject specialist qualifications or training (e.g. Supporting Teaching and Learning Level 2+, CACHE Level 2+, SaLT, Makaton, BSL, Moving and Handling).
- Strong communication and ICT skills.
- A positive, empathetic attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Experience supporting learners with behaviours that challenge.
- Experience supporting learners in Maths and English.
- Level 3 Diploma in Education and Training.
- Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification.
- Awareness of current developments in Further Education and SEND.
