Training Specialist​/Dispatcher

Urban Logistics is an Amazon Delivery Service Partner that is owned and operated by Dave Uziel, a family native to the Bay Area for 40+ years. We deliver packages and smiles to San Mateo County every day. We’re looking for dedicated individuals who are inspired and motivated to work smart and work hard in a team environment.

The Training Manager / Dispatcher is responsible for developing, delivering, and maintaining high-quality training programs for Delivery Associates (DAs) while also supporting daily dispatch operations. This role ensures drivers meet Amazon safety, compliance, and performance standards, and that daily routes are executed efficiently and safely.

• Conduct new hire behind‑the‑wheel training for Delivery Associates
• Ensure new drivers understand Amazon policies, delivery procedures, and safety expectations
• Deliver refresher and corrective training as needed
• Maintain training documentation, checklists, and acknowledgments

• Train and reinforce Amazon safety standards, including DVICs, Netradyne compliance, and traffic laws
• Monitor safety trends and provide corrective coaching
• Partner with Operations and Dispatch to address recurring safety or quality issues
• Ensure training and operations align with Amazon DSP requirements and audit standards

• Coach drivers on delivery efficiency, package handling, POD accuracy, and customer service
• Set clear expectations for quality, speed, and professionalism
• Identify performance gaps and create targeted improvement plans
• Provide face‑to‑face coaching whenever possible
• Support leadership with driver evaluations and performance recommendations

• Execute daily dispatch operations including route assignments, wave management, and launchpad coordination
• Monitor routes throughout the day for performance, delays, and safety concerns
• Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers during routes
• Manage call/text/call procedures, escalations, and delivery issues
• Coordinate rescues and reassignments when necessary, ensuring rescues are used appropriately
• Track late departures, returns, reattempts, and route completions
• Ensure proper return‑to‑station procedures and debriefing are completed
• Communicate operational updates clearly to drivers and leadership

• Collaborate with Operations, Dispatch, and Leadership to ensure consistent expectations
• Work in conjunction with the hiring manager during onboarding
• Assist with route ride‑alongs and field observations
• Support peak season readiness and large‑scale onboarding efforts

• Maintain accurate training, dispatch, and compliance records
• Track training completion, certifications, suspensions, and corrective actions
• Provide daily and weekly feedback to leadership on operational and training trends

• Previous experience in Amazon DSP or Amazon operations (preferred)
• Strong understanding of Amazon delivery processes, Flex app, and safety policies
• Proven ability to coach, train, and support drivers
• Strong communication, leadership, and conflict‑resolution skills
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Ability to enforce standards consistently and professionally
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

• Prior experience as a Dispatcher, Lead Driver, or Trainer
• Experience conducting behind‑the‑wheel or classroom‑style training
• Familiarity with Amazon scorecards, Netradyne, and DSP performance metrics

• Ability to stand, walk, and work on the launchpad or in the field
• Ability to ride along in delivery vans Ability to work in a fast‑paced, time‑sensitive environment
