Overview
Occupational Health Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner needed for a 24 hour per week, part-time temp contract opportunity with Yoh’s well-known biopharmaceutical client located in South San Francisco, CA.
Provide emergency care, first-aid and episodic treatment of occupational injuries and illnesses, within standing orders. This position requires knowledge of prevention of illness and injury, protection from work-related hazards, and promotion and restoration of health. Job is anticipated to start by the end of February and is ongoing until further notice (a month or longer). Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday 8 hrs, days.
Top Skills You Should Possess- Active/unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) OR Nurse Practitioner (FNP/ANP) license in state of California
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Nurse/NP in an Occupational Health, Employee Health, Emergency Medicine, Urgent Care, Internal Medicine, Corrections, School Nursing, and/or Family Practice type setting
- Audiometry testing (CAOHC/COHC Certified)
- Trained in spirometry (NIOSH Certified)
- High level of initiative and sound independent judgment
- Assessment, triage, treatment, and education for sick or injured employees
- Perform onsite physical assessments (pre-placement, return-to-work, fitness-for-duty)
- Promote wellness/wellbeing initiatives at the site
- Provide medical testing such as audiograms, vision testing, pulmonary function, respirator fit testing, blood glucose, blood pressure, cholesterol, and perform limited interpretation of tests
- TB tests, drug screens, Flu shots, and blood draws if needed
- Charting/documentation of care using EMR system (OHM)
- Case management
- Maintain accurate records related to OSHA, Workers’ Compensation, and corporate reporting
- Respond to emergencies onsite and provide emergency medical care as needed
- Must be able to fluctuate the Tues/Wed/Thurs shift times depending on the needs of the clinic (e.g., 8am to 5pm, 6am to 2:30pm, 7am to 4pm, etc.)
- Current BLS
- For NP: nationally certified (ANCC or AANP) and have NPI
- For NP: current prescription authority required (DEA highly preferred)
- Computer skills with MS Office and EMR systems (OHM experience a plus)
- Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills
