About Our ClientAddison Group is partnering with one of our clients to hire an HR Generalist focused on compliance and policy enforcement. This organization operates in a highly regulated environment and has a large, established HR team supporting a workforce of 1,000+ employees. Job DescriptionThe HR Generalist (Compliance) will serve as a key resource for ensuring HR policies and procedures are followed accurately across the organization. This role will act as the first point of contact for employee and manager inquiries, manage documentation, support audits, and ensure compliance with employment laws and internal policies. The ideal candidate is confident, detail-oriented, and comfortable enforcing policy in complex situations.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the primary point of contact for HR-related questions and escalations
- Enforce company policies consistently and fairly across departments
- Monitor compliance with federal, state (CA), and local employment regulations
- Support internal audits and compliance reporting
- Maintain accurate HR documentation, records, and files
- Assist with employee offboarding, terminations, and related paperwork
- Collect and review timecards and coordinate with payroll teams
- Partner with HR and back-office teams to ensure process accuracy
- Update and maintain policies, procedures, and HR documentation
- Use HR systems and SharePoint for tracking and reporting
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in HR compliance, auditing, or regulatory-focused HR roles
- Experience working in organizations with 500+ employees
- Strong understanding of HR policies and employment law
- Ability to navigate sensitive issues and escalate appropriately
Preferred:
- Background in nonprofit, healthcare, legal, or other highly regulated industries
- Working knowledge of California labor laws
- SHRM certification or Cal Chamber training a plus
- Reports to HR Director
- HR team of ~40 professionals
- Hybrid schedule (2 days onsite in South San Francisco)
- Background check, fingerprinting, and drug screening required
- Interview process includes virtual and onsite panel interviews
