Nestled in San Francisco's Excelsior neighborhood on a nine-acre campus, the San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living (SFCJL) is a center of excellence in providing a continuum of care. This includes the Frank Residences, offering luxurious assisted living and memory care services; the Jewish Home and Rehabilitation Center, featuring long-term skilled nursing, short-term rehabilitation, and an acute psychiatric unit specialized in mental healthcare for older adults over age 55;

and the Jewish Home and Senior Living Foundation.

What You’ll Do

As a Wellness Nurse Supervisor
, you will support the Health & Wellness Department by supervising caregiving staff, coordinating resident medical services, overseeing documentation and compliance, and facilitating communication with residents, families, and external providers. You will ensure a high standard of care through leadership, training, and hands-on clinical support.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise medication technicians and caregiving staff, ensuring accurate shift handoffs and timely documentation.
  • Oversee and maintain accurate, complete, and confidential records related to medications, treatments, and resident care.
  • Assist in resident admissions, discharges, and transfers; compile and manage medical charts.
  • Lead COVID-19 policy implementation, including protocols for visitation and staff compliance.
  • Coordinate and monitor resident medical appointments and transportation logistics.
  • Triage residents with health changes or urgent needs, providing immediate clinical support.
  • Address resident and family concerns with professionalism and compassion.
  • Communicate changes in resident status to physicians, families, and appropriate team members.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and performance evaluation of wellness staff.
  • Develop and lead training, in-services, and mentoring programs to promote best practices.
  • Maintain medical supply inventory and ensure timely ordering and stocking.
  • Conduct regular audits of systems and records for compliance and quality improvement.
  • Provide medication and caregiving support when needed, including administering medications, triaging incidents, and updating care plans.
  • Uphold infection control procedures, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support department operations and resident care.
Qualifications
  • Current and active State of California LVN or RN License.
  • Two years of recent LVN nursing experience and/or two years of experience in assisted living as a med-tech or caregiver at Frank Residences or a similar community.
  • New RN graduates may be considered.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience in assisted living preferred.
  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED; coursework in medical terminology or health services preferred.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification required.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to delegate, lead a team, and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Knowledge of elderly care standards, infection control, and universal precautions.
  • Genuine compassion for older adults and a commitment to providing high-quality care.
