Manager, Public Policy

Amazon Public Policy is looking for a Manager to help develop and execute state public policy efforts at the state level in California. The role involves creating and executing a government affairs strategy, educating key state officials, and coordinating advocacy work with trade associations, consultants, and policy organizations.

• Coordinate with Amazon’s public policy team to educate government stakeholders on a wide range of policy areas.
• Work closely with the Head of California Public Policy and others in Public Policy to coordinate advocacy and represent Amazon issues to policymakers on our business-related issues.
• Assess and anticipate public policy matters, oversee and execute external advocacy efforts, and drive key initiatives.
• Communicate potential government activities back to the business, develop mitigation or enhancement strategies and positions.
• Help coordinate external advocacy efforts, outreach programs, and key initiatives in concert with business objectives.

Your day will blend strategic planning, relationship building, and policy development. You will engage with government officials, craft compelling policy narratives, and translate complex business priorities into actionable advocacy strategies.

The Public Policy team is a collaborative network of strategic thinkers dedicated to creating positive change. Our work spans diverse policy domains, leveraging expertise to address complex challenges and impact how technology and policy intersect.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• At least 8 years of relevant public policy experience with a keen working understanding of technology policy and related issues.
• Ability and desire to travel.

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, or Law.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
