Job Description SummaryThis position directs and manages Plant Maintenance activities to support the manufacturing and packing operations initiatives, inclusive of engineering, capital improvement and R&D implementation projects as assigned.
The pay range for this position in California at commencement of employment is expected to be between $145K and $165K annually; base pay may vary depending on individual factors.
Position Responsibilities- Direct and oversee maintenance of all manufacturing and packaging equipment, ensuring cost-effectiveness, high standards of upkeep, and compliance with safety, quality, and budgetary requirements.
- Lead and develop plant maintenance personnel across mechanical, electrical, and control disciplines; manage staff activities including training, performance, planning, and prioritizing.
- Manage and develop the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) process; maintain PPM systems and track effectiveness using data.
- Establish collaboration between Maintenance, Manufacturing, Packing, FSQA, Engineering, Facilities, and R&D teams.
- Apply business context to implement preventive and predictive maintenance tactics to minimize breakdowns.
- Procure spare parts, maintenance services, and supplies cost‑effectively; design and improve equipment and facilities to meet production and safety standards.
- Support R&D projects and installations with Plant Management and Engineering.
- Negotiate contracts with equipment vendors, suppliers, and contractors.
- Ensure plant compliance with OSHA, EPA, FDA, and local regulations.
- Implement Continuous Improvement programs and new methods to improve safety, efficiency, quality, and food safety.
- Lead TPM implementation and initiatives within the department.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable safety, food safety, and environmental laws and company policies.
- Assist in the company emergency preparedness program.
- Drive change principles, communication, engagement, and development.
- Perform special projects as assigned by management.
- Identify opportunities for technology and innovation to improve departmental effectiveness.
- Execute and adhere to pre‑requisite programs and the company’s food safety and defense program.
- Commit to the company’s core principles and workplace values, including diversity and inclusion.
- 5–15 years of experience in food plant maintenance.
- Strong people management and motivational skills; excellent communication and technical skills.
- Customer service and stakeholder engagement skills, with an internal customer mindset.
- Strong problem‑solving skills.
- Proven project management skills.
- Proficiency in CMMS.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field (equivalent experience considered).
