Overview

Ohalo™ is seeking a Commercial Associate to help bring Ohalo's breakthrough seed products to farmers around the world. For the first time ever, Ohalo has developed true seed in crops that have never had seed before, including potato, the world's third largest source of calories. Through its proprietary breakthrough Boosted Breeding technology, Ohalo's true seed will forever change the livelihoods of farmers and improve agricultural productivity around the world.

You will identify target geographies and develop go-to-market plans for bringing new varieties to market, drive product launch readiness, collaborate with Ohalo's program management, breeding, seed production and regulatory teams, and support partners and farmers in successfully deploying and adopting our breakthrough seed products. We are seeking a true "all-around athlete"— a high‑energy operator who has a proven ability to develop strategic market entry plans, enjoys spending time with farmer customers, and can wear multiple hats in coordinating the legal, regulatory, marketing, agronomic, and in‑field support needed to bring a new agriculture product to market.

You are not afraid to define new paths, critically challenge convention from first principles, roll up your sleeves to get things done, and fail until you find a way to overcome every challenge.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze and segment markets to identify grower pain points, adoption barriers, and highest‑value opportunities.
  • Build rigorous grower and farm profiles; translate insights into high‑precision Target Product Profiles (TPPs).
  • Own demand forecasting and align market needs with breeding, production, and regulatory timelines.
  • Establish a tight, high‑velocity feedback loop with R&D and production—ensuring market signals drive product development.
  • Develop end‑to‑end commercial roadmaps for new product and geography launches.
  • Research prospective commercial and go‑to‑market partners; support partner qualification, pitch preparation, negotiations, and commercial material development.
  • Define pricing, positioning, and partnership frameworks using first‑principles commercial thinking.
  • Rapidly iterate messaging, positioning, pricing, and go‑to‑market tactics based on real‑time farmer signals.
  • Build and maintain a system for capturing market intelligence and feeding it directly into product, commercial, and operational strategy.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience driving commercial activities with novel agricultural products.
  • Strong analytical skills, with proven ability to conduct market assessments, segmentation, and customer needs analysis.
  • Ability to forecast demand and align commercial plans with breeding, production, and regulatory timelines.
  • Demonstrated success supporting go‑to‑market strategy development, including pricing, positioning, and commercial road mapping.
  • Strong communicator, with demonstrated ability to translate complex technical attributes into clear commercial value propositions.
  • Skilled in cross‑functional cooperation, with a track record of working closely with R&D, operations, marketing, and regulatory teams.
  • Good understanding of row crop production systems, grower decision‑making, and value chain economics.
Compensation

The anticipated pay range for this role is $100,000 - $150,000 per year for our South San Francisco location. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as scope and responsibilities, qualifications, budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
