POSITION SUMMARY
The Laborer (Seasonal) works under the direction of the Streets Division Manager; installs and repairs city curbs, gutters and sidewalks; performs street maintenance tasks.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES- Operates a variety of hand tools and small equipment in performing street maintenance tasks.
- Assist with the removal of existing concrete.
- Assists with the construction of forms necessary for concrete pouring.
- Assists with the placement of concrete for newly poured curbs, gutters and sidewalks.
- Patches and repairs potholes.
- Assists with laying of asphalt and smoothing asphalt patches.
- Repairs and replaces city street signs.
- Cleans storm drains and gutters.
- Paints crosswalks, stop bars and legends.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Graduation from high school or GED equivalent, or any equivalent combination of related education and experience.
- Must possess a valid state driver's license, or have the ability to obtain one prior to employment.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of general construction techniques.
- Skill in operation of various hand and power tools.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

SALARY: GRADE SEASONAL $16.00-$20.00/HOUR (TYPICALLY START AT MINIMUM)
