Clinical Psychologist - Maine Health Behavioral Health Integration/Maine Medical Center
- Weight Management has a new opportunity for a licensed psychologist to be part of our bariatric surgery and medical weight loss program, located in South Portland, Maine. The Weight Management program treats both adults and kids who are looking to create a healthier self. It staffs a comprehensive team including board certified bariatricians, surgeons, dieticians, and behavioral health clinicians. The psychologist, functioning as a behavioral health clinician, will be part of the multidisciplinary team supporting patients as they move towards a healthier life.
The role of the behavioral health clinician includes providing assessments and focused treatment to patients of the practice. Treatment structure would include both individual and group work.
The work is enhanced by being part of a medical team with solid experience in integrated work. Collaborative work with psychiatrists and other integrated clinicians in the Maine Health system adds to the experience. Individual supervision, group supervision, and quarterly trainings are benefits of this position.
ScheduledPart-time, 20 hours per week, potential additional hours available.
Minimum Qualifications- Education: Requires professional level of knowledge in Clinical psychology which is equivalent to that which is acquired through the completion of a Doctoral program, accredited by The American Psychological Association.

Certifications:
Current license as a Psychologist by the Board of Examiners of Psychologists of Maine. - Experience: Requires a comprehensive understanding of all the procedures and systems used within a clinical psychology setting as well as high levels of proficiency in performing psychological assessment, treatment and consultation normally acquired in a minimum of three years of experience. Requires a minimum of two years of clinical experience.
- Necessary personal and interpersonal skills required to conduct individual family and/or group psychotherapy sessions with patients and their families as well as to work effectively as a member of the health care team.
