Job Description & How to Apply Below

So, here's how we work. We all get together (and we mean everyone from every needed specialty) to shape an idea. You'll have an engineer around the table with a landscape architect, a surveyor, maybe even a traffic engineer. From this invigorating first moment of creativity, we are shaping something. This is a chance to learn and advance your land surveying skills in a dynamic environment with some incredible peers who are there to teach and inspire and learn from you.

We're looking for someone who is advanced in their career, so if you are a PLS, practiced in being a good listener, and the ability and desire to collaborate and learn inside the collective, you better just go ahead and submit an application. We can't wait to meet you!

We currently are seeking candidates for Surveyors to work out of our Bridgton and South Portland locations.

This is our outline to provide points of clarity. While it's not exhaustive, these are good specifics to be aware of. Not every single person meets every single one of these criteria, don't let that stop you from applying. Together, we shape the new owner and teammate experience with thoughtful training and ever-present peer support.

Knowledge/Competencies

  • Know the principles of performing basic surveys: leveling, traversing, public land surveys, metes and bounds surveys, construction surveys, horizontal control surveys, State Plane Coordinate surveys and as-built surveys.
  • Familiar with requirements of global positioning (GPS) and geographical land information systems (G/LIS).
  • General knowledge of hydrographic, mining and photogrammetric surveying.
  • Know the principles of astronomical observations.
  • Able to coordinate and supervise fieldwork for a variety of standard types of surveys.
  • Knowledge of proper record keeping, timekeeping, and job expenses.
  • Able to keep, reduce, and check (for completeness and accuracy) neat and orderly field notes for standard surveying operations: leveling, traversing, topographic mapping, layout, as-built surveys, boundary surveys, profile and cross-section surveys.
  • Able to use hand-held calculations or microcomputer software, be able to enter field data and produce positional information.
  • Knowing when to use, how to obtain, and how to interpret control point records and data sheets, as well as locate points in the field.
  • Knowledge of and familiarization with general applications of CAD.
  • Able to coordinate design elements, obtained from professionals, into final drawings.
  • Knowledge of surveying ethics and technical standards and organizations such as MSPS, ALTA, NGS, ACSM, BLMS, and ASCE.
