Automotive Mechanic Mobile

Overview

Torque by Ryder is seeking a permanent, full-time experienced mobile auto technician to support our truck fleet in Edison, New Jersey. This is a mobile/field technician role with on-site service vehicles provided for mobile work.

• Perform diagnosis, repairs, inspections and preventative maintenance for non-contractual customers. May assist higher-grade Automotive Maintenance Specialists and assist them in completing complex diagnostic repairs.
• Perform routine vehicle maintenance including, but not limited to, tune-ups, oil changes, tire changes, fuel filter changes, fluid checks, alignments, basic suspension replacement and light and mirror replacements.
• Diagnose, repair or replace engine parts including alternators, starters, radiators, injectors, transmissions and other fuel components; perform basic diagnostics.
• Conduct hydraulic brake inspections, repairs, and replacements.
• May operate mobile maintenance vehicle and travel to customer yards within the assigned region.
• Possess general knowledge of Torque/Ryder products and services; represent Torque/Ryder to establish relationships with customers.
• Utilize Salesforce and electronic documentation; ensure proper documentation of work orders, repair authorizations, and repair notes within Salesforce.
• Perform environmental duties such as site inspections, site clean-ups/disposals, and handling vehicle chemicals with guidance.
• Comply with all federal/regional and corporate guidelines; perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or professional diploma preferred.
• Three (3) years or more in combination of classroom training and work experience.
• Non-Commercial Driver License CLASS E; valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A preferred.
• State driver’s license as required.
• Ability to: understand and adhere to company policies; create and maintain professional relationships; work independently and as part of a team; demonstrate customer service skills; communicate effectively (verbal and written); multi-task and manage time efficiently.
• PM230 & PM298, BA220 & BA298, FMCS 396.25, BH220 & BH298, TW220, AC220 & AC298 training or qualification within stated time frames.
• Battery charge and check; warranty; HD electrical; SBTIII/SBT Phase 2 training; OEM online engine courses (minimum
  2).
• Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; excellent organizational skills.
• This position requires driving Ryder vehicles. To become a Ryder employee you must: pass a Ryder drug test; pass a DOT physical; pass a Ryder road test; pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years.
