Associate Veterinarian (Exotics Focus) | Optional Medical Director Path

  • Has experience with or a strong interest in avian, reptile, and small mammal medicine

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive patient exams and medical workups
  • Communicate diagnoses, treatment options, and care plans to clients
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures and surgical interventions
  • Maintain accurate and thorough medical records
  • Prescribe medications and follow controlled substance protocols
  • Promote teamwork, efficiency, and high medical standards
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership on priorities, protocols, and workflow
  • Monitor hospitalized cases and participate in daily rounds when possible
  • Participate in practice management updates and ongoing training
Required Qualifications
  • DVM degree from an accredited veterinary college or university
  • Active state veterinary license
  • DEA registration (or ability to obtain and maintain)
  • Minimum of 1 year of veterinary practice experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform moderately physical tasks
  • Commitment to compassionate, high-quality veterinary care
