We are looking for a hands on Operations Supervisor to join our team in South Plainfield, NJ.
Job SummaryThe Operations Supervisor leads a team to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate daily operations. Key responsibilities include coaching and developing staff, managing schedules and workflow, maintaining inventory and ERP accuracy, and supporting logistics and shipment coordination.
Essential Functions- Drive a safe work environment and zero‑injury safety culture, ensure safety rules are clear and followed.
- Manage direct reports through coaching and supporting their training, development, and productivity.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Establish and maintain a cross‑functional staffing and training plan for your team, provide regular feedback and coaching to your direct reports.
- Perform administrative activities necessary for the effective management of your team, including administrating time and attendance, managing personnel and production schedules, compiling production data, analyzing trends, and completing reports.
- Ensure the schedule meets production standards, volume, and mix requirements to meet customer deliveries.
- Develop an understanding of the end‑to‑end production process in order to effectively manage daily operations, drive continuous improvement, develop and ensure standard operating practices, and provide overall guidance to your direct team.
- Ownership of logistics and production scheduling activities and management of team members.
- Responsible for inventory, production, and logistics transactional accuracy and data management in ERP through review of various reports and corrective actions to facilitate production scheduling and inventory visibility.
- Assist with the scheduling of shipments and communicate with affected departments and customers regarding arrival dates.
- Assist with coordination of plant functions, responsibilities, budgetary performance, manpower utilization, skills, equipment, facilities and production control and inventory control systems.
- Develop and ensure work instructions are available, accurate, and utilized.
- Assist with root‑cause investigations for quality related issues.
- Attend and at times lead cross‑functional daily management meetings (DMM).
- Participate in SIOP activities with contributions as deemed necessary from manager.
- Maintain a positive work environment by behaving and communicating in a professional manner with customers, co‑workers, clients, and other department leaders.
- Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external use.
- Responsible for assisting with the physical inventory process as designated by the Operations Manager.
- Support continuous learning of self and others.
- Carry out leadership responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Anticipated Pay Range$98,000 - $110,000

The range displayed on the job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. The range may vary by location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Requirements- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree in business, management, engineering or other related field preferred.
- 3‑5 years of experience in industrial manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of LEAN Manufacturing Principles preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to direct, coach, and train associates as well as plan, monitor, and schedule work.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
- PC skills including MS Word and MS Excel minimum.
