Foreman-Earthwork​/Pipework

Overview

Edgewood Properties is a leading real estate development and property management company with corporate headquarters in New Jersey. Our current apartment portfolio of 6,000+ units is expected to grow significantly in the coming years. We are seeking a Foreman-Earthwork/Pipework for our Excavation Department, based in our South Plainfield, NJ office.

• Oversee, manage and direct Operators and Laborers assigned to the crew, and perform work as needed.
• Operate heavy equipment as required to complete assigned tasks.
• Review and understand plans, details, and specifications.
• Understand production expectations and the impact of production on the overall job schedule and budget.
• Coordinate with the Project Superintendent to ensure required manpower, equipment, and tools are available on site in a timely manner.
• Coordinate with Site Superintendent to ensure required materials are available to complete tasks per project schedule.
• Manage and track materials, obtain and verify receipts, and compare materials used to budget. Report variations to Site Superintendent.
• Prepare daily reports at end of each day, including production notes, issues, inspections, equipment used, hours, and job/cost codes for job costing; report equipment issues and maintenance needs.
• Responsible for equipment and tools assigned; report breakdowns or issues to Site Superintendent and shop.
• Assist with payroll reporting for the crew.
• Maintain jobsite safety: ensure proper PPE is worn, report accidents immediately to Site Superintendent and office.
• Perform toolbox talks and coordinate activities with other crews, trades, and Building Construction Team onsite.
• Prepare redline as-builts and field notes for work performed.
• Inspect all work and ensure workmanship and quality.
• Respect and acknowledge the work of others; communicate schedule updates to crew members.
• Report non-attendance to Site Superintendent and Office; ensure equipment is staged neatly and kept clean.
• Attend meetings as required; assist with snow removal and salting operations on existing and new projects.

• Extensive knowledge in all aspects of site improvements including earthwork operations (sanitary sewer, drainage, water, concrete, paving, utility installation, etc.).
• Experience in Multi-Family, Commercial/Industrial Construction projects.
• Ability to read and understand project documents including construction drawings, specifications, contracts, RFIs, submittals, cut sheets, and survey stakes.
• Knowledge and understanding of heavy equipment and tools required to perform tasks effectively.
• General knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office Suite.
