Overview
Seton Hall University's Department of Mathematics and Computer Science and the School of Diplomacy and International Relations invite applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in cybersecurity and policy to commence in the academic year. The position is a joint appointment housed in the College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, and the School of Diplomacy and International Relations.
The applicant will have undergraduate and graduate teaching responsibilities each year for Computer Science (3 courses/9 credits) and Diplomacy and International Relations (3 courses/9 credits).
- Teach courses in computer science related to cybersecurity.
- Teach courses in government policy related to cybersecurity, information security, and cyber warfare.
- Teach courses in modern statistical research methods/data analysis.
- Contribute to degree programs in cybersecurity and international and homeland security.
- Help launch new curriculum in security and conflict analysis.
- Ph.D. in hand by appointment, in either (1) computer science, computer engineering, or cybersecurity with academic training in public policy or extensive policy experience, or (2) political science or related discipline with academic computer science training or extensive technical experience.
- Demonstrated potential to teach effectively at undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Strong research background or substantial potential for conducting important academic research in the field of specialization.
