Overview
The Assistant Store Manager will support the Store Manager in areas of sales, customer service, store appearance and store operations. This position will manage the store during the Store Manager’s absence and/or when working opposing shifts. The Assistant Manager will lead the store team in servicing customers.
Responsibilities- Lead the store team members in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
- Supervise customer service levels in the retail showroom and ensure team members execute customer service programs (Related sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, Rock the Lot, etc.).
- Work with the store manager to ensure the retail sales counter is adequately staffed during peak hours (lunch, late afternoons, evenings, weekends).
- Assist the store manager in setting team member goals, providing feedback, coaching/mentoring, and keeping training up to date.
- Assist in hiring tasks, including scheduling and participating in interviews and evaluating candidates.
- Ensure telephone is answered according to company policy.
- Process buy online/ship to store, hub and store-to-store transfers, and DC add orders in a timely manner and contact customers on shipment arrivals as needed.
- Utilize electronic outside purchase order ledger to handle special orders and outside purchases efficiently and according to procedure.
- Process retail customer returns and exchanges efficiently and friendly, issue refunds using the correct payment methods, and stage returned merchandise appropriately.
- Ensure all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, are invoiced before product leaves the store.
- Communicate Zipline messages, delegate Image Maker and merchandising tasks as assigned.
- Ensure team members comply with company policies, adhere to the posted work schedule, and clock in/out as required.
- Perform store opening/closing duties, day-end procedures, secure money/deposits, prepare bank deposits as needed, secure the building, and manage security systems and delivery vehicles as required.
- Assist in maintaining the store building, parking lot, exterior signage/lighting, computer hardware, in-store service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification and RSS Certification
- Desired:
Certified Parts Professional Certification; ASE Certification - Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired)
