OverviewThrive Education Partners is seeking an exceptional Private Teacher (ESL & Literacy Specialist) to join a dedicated family in Naperville, Illinois. This professional educator will work one-on-one with 12-year-old twin boys in a highly personalized instructional setting designed to accelerate English language acquisition and close foundational academic gaps.
The ideal candidate is a proven educator with deep expertise in literacy instruction and English language development. This role requires structured, intensive instruction delivered with warmth, patience, and engagement. The selected teacher will design and implement a rigorous, customized learning plan to significantly strengthen decoding, fluency, comprehension, writing, and spelling skills.
This position requires confidence in differentiation, experience supporting learning differences, and the ability to thoughtfully integrate academic content into literacy instruction.
About the StudentsAge: 12-year-old twin boys
Background: Living in the United States for approximately two years
Primary Need: Significant English language development
Intensive Focus Areas- English decoding and phonics
- Reading fluency
- Reading comprehension
- Writing development
- Spelling
- Social studies concepts within reading instruction
- Science-based informational texts and vocabulary
- Math vocabulary and applied math language within literacy lessons
Build strong English proficiency while strengthening overall academic readiness and confidence.
The Ideal CandidateThe Private Teacher will:
- Demonstrate success teaching English Language Learners (ESL experience preferred)
- Be highly skilled in structured literacy instruction
- Have experience supporting students with learning differences
- Differentiate instruction to meet individual needs
- Integrate cross-curricular content into literacy-based lessons
- Maintain high expectations while fostering a supportive environment
- Be organized, proactive, and skilled in academic planning
- Communicate effectively with parents and leadership
- Master’s degree in Education, Literacy, ESL, Special Education, or related field
- 7–10+ years of classroom teaching experience
- Strong background in phonics and structured reading instruction
- Experience in private, small-group, or 1:1 instructional settings
Hours will be determined based on the family’s needs and the candidate’s availability. Both part-time and full-time schedules will be considered.
