Field Construction Intern - Naperville, IL Position Summary

eX² Technology is seeking a skilled Field Construction Intern to assist with daily job site operations and join our team. As a Field Construction Intern, you will help coordinate subcontractors and vendors, maintain project documentation and support project management on active construction projects. This candidate will gain hands‑on experience in construction management within one of the most in-demand fields today - building fiber optic networks and the systems they enable, using modern technologies with an industry leader.

Non-Exempt

Field Operations:
Assist with site layout and maintain organized job sites.

Project Documentation:
Assist with tracking subcontractor progress using GIS tools, create and update project drawings, maintain RFI and submittal logs and generate meeting minutes and status reports.

Subcontractor & Vendor Coordination:
Help coordinate deliveries and work goals for subcontractors and vendors.

Quality Control & Safety:
Support quality control programs and help ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.

Meeting Participation:
Attend project meetings, document activities and help track progress and issues.

Project Management Support:
Assist with quantity take-offs, cost tracking, schedule updates and project closeout activities.

Education

Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture or a related field.

Experience

Technical

Skills:

Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, with an ability to read and understand construction documents. GIS skills are desirable, but not required.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for interacting with project teams and other stakeholders.
