Superintendent - Commercial Construction

Job Description

A well-respected Chicago commercial general contractor is seeking a Construction Superintendent who wants to have a big impact leading projects. This general contractor specializes in restaurant, retail, and commercial office projects in the $1M-$5M range. This is the kind of role where the superintendent truly runs the jobsite and has a direct impact on the success of each project.

These smaller commercial projects allow you to stay close to the work-coordinating subcontractors, managing schedules, maintaining safety, and keeping projects moving from start to finish with the support of a strong project management team.

• Interior renovation projects
• Small ground-up commercial projects

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily construction jobsite operations
• Oversee commercial construction scheduling and sequencing
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field crews
• Maintain site safety, OSHA compliance, and quality control
• Lead subcontractor coordination meetings
• Monitor project schedules, inspections, and milestones
• Communicate with project managers, owners, architects, and inspectors
• Ensure projects stay on schedule and meet quality standards

What We're Looking For

• Experience as a Construction Superintendent, Field Superintendent, or Lead Superintendent
• Background in restaurant construction, retail construction, office buildouts, or commercial interiors
• Experience managing commercial projects in the $1M-$5M range
• Strong skills in scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and jobsite leadership
• Ability to run a clean, organized jobsite
