A yard operative needs to be willing to drive mobile plant and learn the use of the bagging machines on site. They must be able to work in all weather conditions and be part of a highly motivated team where good communication is fundamental. Manual work is required on a daily basis.

This is an important role within GRS, with primary responsibility to:

• Ensure safe, compliant and efficient production of bagged aggregates.
• Ensure high standards of Health & Safety at all times, reporting any issues, accidents and near misses to the line manager.
• Work as part of a high-performing team to produce bagged aggregates for our customers with focus on quality and production.
• Operate a forklift truck, depending on site requirements.
• Complete fixed plant and mobile plant inspections.
• Bag aggregates in plastic and bulk bags to the required target levels with relevant training given.
• Net and sheet lorries as and when requested by the line manager.
• General housekeeping duties as requested by the line manager.
• Maintain good communication with all drivers, yard operatives and delivery drivers.
• Responsibilities for compliance and discharging legal duties with regard to HR and Health & Safety to promote a safe, equitable and legally compliant workplace.

• Good knowledge of Health and Safety (preferable).
• Training will be given, but experience in the above areas will be advantageous.
