About the school:
The vision of South Lanarkshire Council is to ‘Work Together to Improve the Quality of Life for Everyone in South Lanarkshire’.Victoria Park School is situated in Carluke in the Clydesdale area of South Lanarkshire. We share a campus with High Mill Primary School. Our school caters for pupils within South Lanarkshire who present with a broad range of complex additional support needs from Primary 1 – Primary
7. Pupils are allocated a placement through the ASN Primary Allocations process. Our pupils benefit from smaller class sizes and higher staff ratios to support their learning.
All children attending Scotland’s local authority schools follow a Curriculum for Excellence. We use the Milestones to Support Learners with Complex Needs to inform our teaching, planning and assessment. At Victoria Park School we adapt the curriculum to meet the needs of all pupils and we use active learning, Play Based Learning, practical tasks and community links to make learning relevant and challenging.
In our school pupils have access to soft play, a sensory room and hydrotherapy pool to support their wider learning and well-being. The pupils have access to an internal courtyard as well as a garden for breaks and play.
** The Additional Support Needs Department caters for students who require additional support across areas of the curriculum.
** South Lanarkshire Council schools have recently undergone an £800m+ modernisation programme.
The aim of this programme is simple - to create high quality additional support needs and primary and secondary provision in South Lanarkshire - fit for the twenty first century.
During this time we have built and modernised numerous Schools.
It is our mission to make positive meaningful changes in the lives of young people. We aim to provide an exceptional learning and working environment for pupils and staff and work in partnership with parents, support staff and other professionals.
We are committed to the education, care and welfare of young people in a childcare environment.
You will assist in the delivery of the curriculum and contribute to whole school initiatives, as appropriate.
You will carry out the range of duties outlined in Annexe B of "A Teaching Profession for the 21st Century" - available
